1、考核普通高中学生相关科目学习是否达到课程标准要求,能否达到各学科课程的毕业标准;

2、反映普通高中学校实施高中课程标准的水平和教育教学质量及办学水平;

3、作为各级教育行政部门进行普通高中课程管理,督促学校认真执行课程方案和课程标准,规范教育教学行为的重要手段;

4、为高等学校招收新生提供依据(具体办法将在我省2011年高考方案中体现);

stood a man. He was most likely in his sixties ---- clean, but looked very sad. He was holding a sign which read, “Looking for work. Trying to get enough money to buy a bus ticket to Wyoming.”

When I drove the car, something in my heart said, “You need to help him.” I hardly have cash on me, but today I actually had cash in my wallet. I looked around, stopped my car, and asked my son to get my wallet. I had a $ 5 and a $ 10 dollar bill. I got the $ 5 and we would hand it to the man.

My son said, “Mom, I think that man is really down on his luck. Can we give it all to him?”

“That’s all the cash I have,” I answered, “But you can choose to give him the $ 5 or the $ 10.”

He immediately took out the 10 dollars. I waited until no one was around, and we drove back over to the man. After my son handed the man the money, he looked so shocked and at first said nothing. He unfolded the bill and turned it over a few time, realizing it wasn’t just a dollar bill. His eyes grew wide, his mouth turned open, and he said, “Thank you, thank you.”

“You are welcome.” We smiled, and drove off.

I didn’t realize it, but my son watched him in the car mirror as we drove away. He told me that the man picked up his backpack and began walking away. He was on his way.

I’ve just move to Germany for a year as a part of my university course. I am working in a school in a small town in North Rhine ---- Westphalia, Germany this year. I am an English language assistant at the school, which means I help teach the children English, especially their conversational skills. I work with a range of classes, from grade 5 to grade 10, so I get to see the different levels of English in the school.

In England I don’t think learning languages is taken so seriously, although it is becoming more and more important. At school I learned German and Spanish, but foreign languages are not considered to be main subjects, which are English, math and science. Here in Germany, where everyone has to learn English. English is one of the most important subjects, along with German and math. They start learning English in primary school and have to study it until the end of school.

The children in Germany also seem much more motivated (有积极性的) to learn English than English children who are to learn other languages. Maybe this is because there are a lot of English and American things in daily life, such as songs and films here. A lot of English people can be lazy in terms of learning other languages because they think that everyone can speak English, but I don’t think this is good attitude. In my opinion, the emphasis on learning another language here is a really good thing.

44. The writer came to German to _____.

C. help children learn German D. complete his academic courses

45. Why does the writer say learning language doesn’t get enough attention in England?

A. GermanB. mathC. scienceD. English

47. In learning foreign languages, compared with English children, the German children are ____.

Clara Barton was a small woman. Yet she made a big difference in many lives.

Clara Barton was born into a freethinking family in 1821. She was much younger than her four brothers and sisters, who taught her math and reading. As a result, by the time she entered school at three, Barton could read. Do simple arithmetic and spell easy words. She easily kept up with the older children academically but did not fit in with them socially. So for most of Clara’s early years, she was taught at home.

Clara Barton started her life as a nurse during the early days of the American Civil War in 1861. The sight of wounded soldier touched her deeply. She left her office job and became a full-time nurse for the wounded on their way from the fields of battle to the hospital. She cleaned the wounds of injured soldiers. And she fed those who survived.

After the war ended in 1864, Barton’s doctor sent her to Europe to rest. It was there that she learned of an organization, the International Red Cross established in 1863 to offer better treatment to people wounded during wars.

Shortly after returning home in 1873, Barton began planning a campaign to create an American Red Cross. Although at first the government resisted. Barton’s efforts finally paid off. The American Red Cross was officially founded on May 21, 1881. Clara Barton continued as the president of the American Red Cross until she retired when she was in her middle eighties. Under her guidance, the organization helped people in all kinds of trouble.

In April, 1912, Clara Barton died after a life of service to others at 90. Her influence lives on today in the work of the organization she founded.
