This passage tells the story about two girls jumping to the wrong conclusion. It is

written in the third person narrative. Conversation is used to provide realism to

the description of a fearful experience. The story –telling style emphasizes the

sense of reality of the experience presented in the form of an article. It develops

the idea of how something that is quite normal can be perceived as something

abnormal. In this case, a lost cat is mistaken for a ghost.
